Ich hatte das Glück, vom Hotelzimmer aus ein Dohlen-Nest beobachten zu können. 

Davon habe ich schon in Teil 1 des Reiseberichtes geschrieben.

 Es war auch schön zu sehen, dass die Anwohner Wasser für die Vögel bereitgestellt hatten. 

I had the fortune to be able to observe a daw´s nest from the hotel room.

I have written about that in part 1 of the travel report.

It was nice to see that people took care and made water available for the birds.

Die Frage, ob schon Junge im Nest sind oder nicht, ist immer noch offen.

The question if there are youngsters in the nest or not is still to be answered.

Die eine Dohlen füttert die andere. Schade!

One daw feeds the other. Bummer!

Daniel Libeskind is the architect of this extraordinary  construction.

Das Buch ist so etwas wie der Pferdeflüsterer. Leider habe ich mir den Titel nicht gemerkt und konnte ihn auch nicht recherchieren.

This book is something like the Horse Whisperer. I could not keep its title in mind and was also not able to find it on the internet.

Ich hoffe, ihr habt alle ein kühles Plätzchen gefunden! 

Wie vohergesagt ist das Thermometer tatsächlich auf 40°C gestiegen. Und fast hätten wir uns schon über den fehlenden Sommer beklagt....

Und weil wir dieses Wochenende auch ohne Bewegung schon ins Schwitzen geraten habe ich passend dazu ein paar Bilder vom Kraichgau Triathlon im Mai. Das war auch ein heisser Tag. Und jetzt können wir mal so richtig mitfühlen!

The summer came back to Germany this weekend. As the weatherforecast announced, temperatures went up to 104°F. (I know this is PEANUTS for you if you live in Texas:-)) Almost as we just wanted to start lamenting about having no summer....

I think some photos I took at Kraichgau Triathlon in May will suit. It was hot as well and the fact that we work up a sweat without the slightest movement today will qualify us well to sympathize with the athletes.

Bei den Olympischen Spielen 2008 holte er sich die Silbermedaille

und beim diesjährigen Ironman in Texas wurde er Vierter.

An enthusiastic audience welcomes the mens winner, Andreas Raelert from Germany.

He is winner of the Silver Medal of the Olympic Games in 2008

and he finished the Texas Ironman this year as fourth.

Und hier der Lokalmatador auf dem Weg ins Ziel. Thomas Hellriegel aus Bruchsal, der als erster Deutscher den Ironman Hawaii gewann. Das war 1997, nachdem er die beiden Jahre davor jeweils Zweiter geworden war.

Here comes our local hero, Thomas Hellriegel (known as Hell on Wheels) from Bruchsal. 

He was the first German who won the Ironman Hawaii. That was in 1997 after he finished as second the two years before.

 Auch die Erste der Damen kommt aus Deutschland, Julia Gajer, promovierte Pharmazeutin  aus Freiburg.

Also the winner of the ladies group comes from Germany. It´s Julia Gajer from Freiburg,
