Don´t cry over spilled coffee

Eine meiner Lieblingstassen ist zu Bruch gegangen. Meine Neueste. Schade schade.

One of my favorite mugs is broken. The newest one. What a pitty.

 Ich bin über die Meerschweinchen gestolpert, die beide hinter der Tür lauerten.

 I stumbled across the guinea pigs, both lurking behind the door.

Luigi hatte Glück und kam mit dem Schrecken davon, aber über Luna ergoss sich der heisse Kaffee. Das dicke Fell hat sie Gott sei Dank vor Schlimmerem bewahrt und sie ist gleich auf ihr Sofa geflüchtet.

Luigi was just in for a shock, but Luna got hit by the hot coffee. Mercifully the fur prevented her from the worst and she immediately fled to her sofa.

Note from Luna:

I had a good shake, the coffee splashed out of my fur onto the curtain, the wallpaper and the heating. All white. Hehe.

All my dog furiends can be very proud of me!

Here I recover from all the panic about beeing brewed, cooled down with a shower and, the horror, got blow-dryed.

I then kept an eye on Mom who was busy cleaning for the next hour or so.

Die Tasse gehört zu dieser Charity-Serie. Leider habe ich die mit dem Specht als Motiv nirgends mehr gefunden.

The mug belongs to a charitiy series. Some of them are still availablae, but not the one with the woodpecker design.

 Ich werde jetzt meine eigene Grünspecht Tasse gestalten. Hat noch jemand Interesse? :-)

I will now design my own woodpecker mug. Interested anybody? :-)

 Am roten Fleck im schwarzen Bartstreifen erkennt man den Herrn Grünspecht, bei Frau Grünspecht fehlt er. Diese und noch viele interessante Infos gibt es bei NABU.

Der Grünspecht ist Vogel des Jahres 2014.

You can recognize Mr. Woodpecker by the red spot in the black stripe on his face, it is not present on Mrs. Woodpecker.

Naughty and nice!

Hello peeps, it is us, the pigs Luna and Luigi. 

We had no post for Christmas because Mom was lazy busy.

 Guess what, we have been naughty.

 SOMEONE, who will stay unnamed here, gnawed holes in the curtain.

One is shaped like a heart. We think this is very nice, not naughty...

 Mom the moron left her camera on the floor and then blamed us for nibbling at the eye-piece. She is naughty too!

We had a visitor. His name is Hoppel. He gnawed on our toys. Naughty!

 It was Mom´s birthday and.....

she made this cake. Like many times before.

Look what happened. She messed the recipe and the guests had to eat their cake out of a bowl. (But it tasted good and we will not blame her because she is old)

Can you believe this naughtiness? She bought herself a lens as a gift for birthday and Christmas together.

  

We had a photoshooting for our Christmas card but, as you can see, with no useful result.

Our "helping hand" was not helpful with all the preps for Christmas. Naughty!

(Moms´ fault, she got a new birdfeeder that came with crappy screws and Dad the policeman overstrained the wrist) 

We had two more guests to take care for because our naughty human sissy spent some weeks at Hobbit Land.

They make a super mess while they take their sand-bath.

But they are awful cute.

Come to the naughty side, we share the food :-)

Luigi

Hallo dear blog readers, I am Luigi, guinea pig from Italy. I heard about cute guinea pig girl Luna who was looking for somepig to share cage and food. 

So I took my Vespa to drive all the way from Napoli, give it a try and make her smile again. 

 

Here I am greeting the whole family.

Look what the peeps created for security and what we pigs did by ourselves. Hehe.

Here I learn how to get in and out of the cage by my own. 

I am a quick learner.

The promised sharing of the food. We both can improve that part of the deal.

What do you think about my new furever friend?

 I like him very much. But I don´t believe he came from Napoli. With a Vespa.

He is an Italian Gigolo I think! He was driven by his own chauffeur. He had salad, carrots and bags of treats in his luggage in case we were not prepared for a guest like him :-)

Luigi was thrown away like trash but luckyly found from someone who brought him to an animal shelter. I read this advertisement in the newspaper, took my phone and two hours later, Gino reached his new home. We named him Luigi.

In my head I wrote a lot of post the last weeks.

About a wonderful girls weekend at Cologne with my daughter.

About the view I love when I call it a day at CERN.

About a nice young man with no facebook account or email adress I met at Geneva.

Good bye Lurchi Leopold!

Hello peeps it´s me, the Luna Piggy. With a heavy heart I have to share sad news today with you, our blog readers, and our friends from 

Camera Critters . 

Today in the early morning my Guinea Pig Bro Lurchi Leopold waved good bye and went to another place where no emergency vet, animal clinic, shots and what not is needed. 

This little black piggy fought like a big black panther, but when the unidentified heavy sickness came again the third time, that was too much.

Lurchi Leopold, we will never forget you.

You have been a very special Guinea Pig. The first one we know, who was always controlling the doors if they were really closed or just left ajar .....so you could get in to work on the cables, books, flip-flops and all that stuff that belongs to the floor :-)

We miss you!

We will be strong an act in honor to Lurchis spirit. I was a good Piggy Sissy to him. Maybe the bestest if you ask me. So if you are a Guinea Pig in need out there, looking for a furever home, I share my cage with you. And my food. Even strawberries, I promise!
